Book 1
The Begining
Blue sky hunt
As the sun was setting, Treb circled his prey. His body was dark against the arcane glow of the sun. The forest streched out before him, like a green blanket covering the land, but his mind was not on the scenery. The fox below him ran on, oblivious to the predator above him. It would stop and sniff once in awhile, with what might have been a puzzled look on it’s face from the strange scent of the bird-humanoid circling above it, although he could not see him clearly because he was too high. Treb ruffled his grey feathers and carefully drew, so as to not make any noise, the Kusari-Gama that was his favorite weapon. It was a length of chain with a wicked-looking sickle on the end, enabling him to attack from a distance. As he watched the increasingly wary fox, Treb took good note of it’s speed, then dropped like a stone on the fox, whirling his Kusari-Gama and emanating a screech from his beaked mouth, his eyes glittering in victory. The fox froze for a moment and then bolted to the safety of the forest. Too slow! Treb’s talons gripped at the fox, and he brought his weapon down on the fox. Unfortunately, his talons only grasped fur and his Kusari-Gama, unsteady by it’s length of chain, only sheared off some fur and nicked the skin of the fox. Treb tumbled off and the fox ran forward as fast as possible. Treb ran after it and took off, however the fox was much faster than him and it managed to almost get to the forest when Treb threw his Kusari-Gama at the creature and he hit it in the leg. The fox yelped and fell down. Treb drew his sabre and finished off the fox. grunting at it’s weight. He slung it between his wings and tried to fly off. He barely made it off the ground.
